The Workshop
Community Meals Program

How Does the Program Work?

  • Meals are $7.00 for Galena (within city limits). Meals will be prepaid before delivery.

  • Gift certificates available!

  • Meals will be delivered between 11:00am – 1:00pm Monday through Friday when The Workshop is open (please see list below of days we are closed). 

  • Meals will be prepared daily by our chef who holds a National Food Managers Certification in our commercial kitchen. 

  • Proper Personal Protective Equipment will be worn when cooking and delivering meals.

  • Menus are prepared in advance by The Workshop Community Meals Staff who follow guidelines from Illinois Department on Aging Child and Adult Care Program.

  • Once meals are prepared The Workshop Community Meals trained staff will load the meals into our insulated food pan carriers and will be delivered in our Workshop vehicle.


  • We have four different ways we can deliver your meals so that we can maintain social distancing: 

  1. Meal left in cooler outside your front door. If you choose to have your meal left in a cooler the cooler must be supplied by you.

  2. Courtesy phone call before meal is delivered then meal left by your front door.

  3. We will ring the doorbell/knock and leave the meal by your front door. 

  4. Curbside pickup at The Workshop, 706 S. West St. between 11am to 1pm.


  • To sign up for The Workshop Community Meals simply fill out Welcome Packet forms (Download and print PDF attachment located below the program logo*):

  1. Application Form

  2. Liability Waiver

  3. Payment Form. On the Payment Form choose the days you would like to receive meals.

  4. Return your information to us along with your payment. 

* You can also call The Workshop to receive your Welcome Packet with forms in the mail: (815) 777-2211.

  • Once you are signed up you will receive a new menu each month.

  • Columbus Day

  • Christmas Eve

  • New Year’s Eve
